Tell Me How You *Really* Feel...

Not much new has been going on here, thus the lack of a blog post. I've actually been trying to think of things to blog about but have had a bit of writer's block. I have been trying to get a few things done around the house before my brother Paul's visit this weekend. It is so hard to try to decorate a house that has a completely different color schemes than where we came from. I am trying to do the best I can with what we have so that I don't have to immediately paint everything. I think so far I am doing pretty good and have only had to sprinkle in a few new items to make things work. I am also trying to use some art prints that we have previous either got as a gift or purchased on our travels. Outside of Madeline's room we are incorporating a print of VanGogh's Sunflowers that we purchased at the VanGogh Museum while in Amsterdam. In the Living Room, we are going to hang a print of St. Charles Street (with street car) from New Orleans that Jon had given us. Also, in the Living Room I want to hang a print of Le Chateau Frontenac in Quebec. This is a huge castle-like structure and where David and I stayed on our honeymoon. We bought this print while on our honeymoon but have never had a place to put it. Luckily 2 of the 3 prints we wanted to use were pretty much standard size so I could just buy a frame off the shelf. Unfortunately the Quebec print is an oddball size and therefore we'll have to get it custom framed......GGGRRRRrrrrrrr!!!!! That'll have to wait :-(

Madeline has been quite the trooper in all of this shuffling and transitioning. David took her out of the house for a little bit on Wednesday. The Niagara Falls airport had a grand opening of a new terminal and had a mini-airshow. David took Madeline to see the plans and the fly-over of the Blue Angels. The picture above is of "two Russians" as the plane is also a Russian plane.

Yesterday Mama and Madeline had to head *back out* to the stores to return a few things and pick up a couple more things. We had to head into Niagara Falls and sat at a traffic light in front of the airport. Madeline recognized where she was and practically jumped out of her seat in excitement. She was almost giddy telling me about seeing the planes with Papa and then proceed to exclaim, "Papa love sooooo much!"

Mama on the other hand.....well, I think I dragged her to one too many shopping stores. Normally Madeline enjoys shopping with me. In fact on some mornings I would ask her, "What do you want to do today" and Madeline has often responded, "go shopping store". We hit her limit. On the way back home yesterday I asked Madeline if she likes to go shopping. Madeline told me, "No". I asked Madeline, "Why not?" and Madeline simply responded, "because I said so". Oh boy.....got that message loud and clear.
