Economic Crisis in Adoption Courts

I closely follow other blogs of families that are adopting/have adopted from Russia, more precisely the Astrakhan Region. The family in the "Adopting Little Sister" Blog had court today.

"The judge asked if I wanted to continue ... thumbed through all the paperwork .... asked if the current US financial crisis would impact us, to which I could only say, 'I hope not!' "
International adoption is extremely nerve-racking. I can't imagine having this potential glitch thrown at you during your court proceeding. Thankfully though, this family's adoption ended up being granted and another forever family will celebrate their "Gotcha Day" in about ten days.
